Groups are set for 2024 European Championship

Musholm hosted the draw for the group stage of the 2024 IPCH European Championship with the entire Danish national team in attendance along with mayor of Slagelse Knud Vincents and John Petersson, chairman of Parasport Denmark.

The stage is set for an exciting group stage in Denmark in the fall of 2024. In Group A, defending title holders The Netherlands will play Switzerland, Spain and Germany, while host nation Denmark will tackle Italy, Belgium and Finland in Group B.

Knud Vincents, the mayor of Slagelse, the host municipality, had accepted the task of picking the lottery balls from the bowl during the drawing. John Petersson, Chairman of Parasport Denmark, closed the drawing ceremony by speaking of his excitement at bringing the European Championship to Denmark:

- We are 240 days away from getting the action underway, and I can certainly feel the anticipation building for what I’m confident will be a landmark event in powerchair hockey. The group stage is already looking like it will be a lot of fun, he said.

The draw was an important step towards the Championship and allows the eight competing teams to fully prepare for what is ahead. The 2024 IPCH European Championship opens on October 21.
